| StormWe had a bad storm last night...start of church delayed due to extremely high winds....hugh limbs blown from the trees on the church property.....I am opening this week at work....which means I try to leave the house by 6:20....this morning we awoke about 3:45/4:00 to a storm raging.....I got up at 4:30 got ready for work....I leave about 6:20 it is raining very hard, before I get to work (a 10 minute drive) I can hardly see the rain is coming in sheets....when I get to the office building....it is totally dark....no power. I finally get up the 3 flights of stairs in the dark....get into the office 1 doc is there....NO POWER....nothing works....we call the office manager....she finally gets there another doc and a couple more workers arrive...they decide we will go home and try to come back at 1PM....Manager calls answering service from cell and let them know what has happened and our plans...the docs are so nice they used their cell phones and called all their patients.....I leave the house at 12:15 to be at the office to get a few things done before opening the doors....again it is raining!....thundering and lightening!.....by the time I get to the office the rain is coming in sheets and after I park I am waiting for the rain to subside I can feel the car rocking with the wind! But finally we open the doors and see about 20 patients this afternoon.....After supper tonight we cleaned up a few loose limbs, but will need help getting the the trees cut up and out of our yard and off of the fence. | Mother's DayI had a great Mother's Day....talked to everyone, got flowers, had a great day at church. Not much else happening. We are preparing for our trip to FL in a couple of weeks. Getting ready for Danielle's graduation from High School this Friday. Then a young man from church will be graduating N TX this weekend also. Chatted on line for a few minutes with Tim Shepherd Jr. He is now a commissioned officer in the Army....just got his commission at Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. | I started to post something Saturday....then I started having trouble with my e-mail....so getting that fixed took up most of my time....then I had to go to work yesterday.....busy, busy, day....We joined the YMCA last week...so we are trying to go out there and walk on the treadmill for at least 20 minutes.....not much time left over...especially for me since I think I'm too old to be working full time (8 hrs qd)....I'm really tired when I get home! But life goes on! I think life was simpler when we didn't have so many 'time saving' gadgets!... .....Kindness is a gift anyone can give..... | | |
| 2009Hello from sunny WARM (80) Texas. I had a great start to the new year and the 2nd year at my current job. I took off 2 days before Christmas, but forgot to tell my office manager that I wanted to use some of my PTO for those days. When I signed my time card Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 31st). I realized I was going to have a short pay check, but oh well.....When I came in to work yesterday (Jan. 2nd) my office manager told me "your time card doesn't look right". I reminded her of the 2 days off. She told me to unsign the time card and she would give me the PTO. THANK YOU LORD. Then later in the morning she called me into her office and did my yearly/6 month review. It was good! AND a .25 an hour raise! I did some yard work. Now I've got to get busy and get some inside work done. .......Kindness is a gift anyone can give..... | | |
