| Well since last time I was on here.....the lung function test showed....really nothing....deminished to some degree, but not enough to diagnose any specific desease, such as emphasema or chronic bronchitis....so I just deal with the allergies and the cough! Florida is having TX like weather....cold at night and only slightly warmer in the day time....we lost the banana tree....again....hopefully the orange tree survived. Can't say as if I like this any better than I did before. But we are here FOREVER....I really don't like going to church at Bro. Lee's church.....but it is 100 dollars a week, which we can definately use. If I thought I could actually get a job, I would try.....but there is still the problem of what Al would do all day by himself. We never do any thing....it really gets boring....Well I need to clean house for the family coming over for Christmas. I'm looking forward to that, and hope things go well. They usually don't, but that is just any holiday with family. | | |
| Well, here it is February 1, 2010! We have been in FL for 2 1/2 months.....we have had all sorts of weather.....from freezing to TX-like storms!.....we have attempted to find "our" Dr......so far we have an appointment in a couple of weeks....not sure yet if this will be the Dr. we really want. PaPa got his Ins card.....I have not....although we signed up at the same time.....he is signed up at a local gym for the FREE Silver Sneakers program.....I have to wait for my Ins card to do that.....we have a couple of things planned for this month.....next Sunday PaPa will preach up at Beacon Baptist Church....if y'all don't have a church come on up....in case you don't know Beacon is on Aurora Rd just west of Wickham......I think Sunday School is 9:45 or 10 and preaching service is at 11:00....the night service is at 6:00......the the 8th we will be going to Venice for a FL state fellowship meeting.....the 15th we will be going to Tampa for a GIBF meeting for a couple of days.....Feb. 14th (Valentine's Day) Clayhouse Baptist Church (our home church) will start meeting at the Hampton Inn Hospitality Room in Melbourne 194 Dike Rd. (hwy 192 @I-95 behind the Denny's) Again let me invite you to attend if you don't have a 'home' church.....services start at 10:30.....Clayhouse celebrates it's 6th anniversary next Sunday, Feb. 7th.....Our house is a work in progress....trying to get window treatments in the bedrooms and home office.....finding and doing those little things that need fixing or sprucing up......oops this wasn't supposed to be so long.... .........remember kindness is a gift anyone can give..... | | |
| Here it is Jan. 1, 2010.....so much has changed this past year....we never dreamed, Jan. 1, 2009 that we would be living permanently in FL Jan. 1, 2010.....again there was a full moon. that makes 2 this month....thinking of the FMFCC and all the craziness that means for them. Not sure what this new year holds for us....but we know that our God is in control and Romans 8:28 holds true no matter what we face. ......Kindness is a gift anyone can give.... | | |
| The sky seems a little more clear here....not as much 'smog' even though this is a fairly populous area. Tonight is a full moon....beautiful....sorry girls @FMFCC....I know what that MEANS. We can see stars when we go out at night. We have seen....actually heard more than seen.....the shuttle come back to earth...I think there was some other type of launch today....we heard that. We have met some of our neighbors and they are very friendly...one lady brought us a plate of cookies. We are making progress in becoming acclimated to Florida. The AC came on this afternoon for the first time in 3 days....and we haven't needed the heat. ......kindness is a gift anyone can give..... | | |
| We are now in FL and starting that new life phase.....we are in our house and trying to find new places for our things....we now realize some things are going to have to go....and that is ok. At the moment it sort of feels like vacation....especially with Thanksgiving this week and then we'll be going back to TX in Dec for a week or so for the wedding of Julie & Colt. Then shortly after that Christmas so maybe in Jan things will settle into more of a routine. We'll be attending Clayhouse Baptist Church. Attending rather than expected to be in charge.....that will be different. We are still in the process of becoming Floridians....we now have FL DLs, our one car is registered and a FL title is applied for. We will be getting hooked up to city water in a month or so. Maybe I'll have time to blog a little more....read, finish a quilt I started about 28 years ago! We'll see what this phase has to offer. .....kindness is a gift anyone can give.... | | |
